Environmental Committee:
This committee of owner-volunteers advises the Board on topics relating to the beach trust, wildlife, plants, trees, marshes, lakes and more. It recommends policies for environmentally sensitive areas.

Environmental Accolades:
America’s Best Restored Beach | For the past 40 years, Seabrook Island has utilized a very effective soft shoreline management strategy that involves relocating Cap’n Sams Inlet. In 2016, following the 2015 Inlet Relocation, SIPOA was cited as one of “America’s Best Restored Beaches” by the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association. This award highlighted our community’s emphasis on storm protection, habitat restoration, and recreation.

Audubon International Sustainable Community:
In 2017, the Seabrook Island Property Owners Association (SIPOA) was the first private community in SC, and one of only six worldwide to be certified as an Audubon International Sustainable Community. The program requires progress toward long-term sustainability goals in 15 areas including habitat preservation and stewardship. Learn more about Audubon International here.

  • Sea, Sand & Sustainability | SIPOA became the first private community in SC /6th community in the world designated as a Certified Sustainable Community by Audubon International
