SIPOA patrol vehicles are equipped with audio/video recording units, similar to the one pictured here. If you have received a citation for a moving violation, your infraction and interaction with the SIPOA Officer are recorded on the dash and the officers’ body-worn cameras.
The RADAR units in SIPOA patrol vehicles are state-of-the-art, AXON professional law enforcement units. They record and display the speed on the video recording. The SIPOA RADAR units are certified by the manufacturer annually and tested daily using a calibrated RADAR tuning instrument. If the unit does not respond correctly to the daily test, it is sent for professional recalibration prior to being placed back in service. Each patrol officer operating the RADAR technology has received extensive training prior to being cleared to issue citations.
