Trash & Recycling Services Contractor Update
SIPOA will be using a new service provider this year for trash, recycling, and yard debris pickup. Beginning on February 2, 2026, Sandlapper Waste will provide trash and recycling collection services on Seabrook Island. The collection schedule will be mostly the same, with yard debris collection being moved to Wednesday and Villa and Regime recycle pickup on Tuesdays. The annual collection schedule is attached for your reference.
- January 26th will be the last day for trash pickup with our current provider, and they will be taking the trash carts away on this date.
- Please make sure your trash cart is placed on the curb, regardless of whether it has trash in it or not, on January 26th.
- New trash carts will be delivered during the week of January 27th.
- The recycle carts will remain and will not be changed.
- Regimes with trash corrals and/or backdoor service will have new trash carts delivered during the week of January 27th as well.
- If your trash cart is not picked up by January 27th, please email trash@sipoa.org and provide the address and location of the trash cart.
- The trash carts are 90-gallon size, which is the same size as the current carts. This is the only size trash cart that will be provided by SIPOA; however, residents are allowed to use their own cart if they prefer a different size.
- ARC and the Town will suspend enforcement of trash carts being left on the curb during the week of 1-26-26. Please plan to have your new cart stored properly by 2-1-26.
- The procedure for reporting any missed collection or requesting a new roll cart is still the same and all requests should be emailed to trash@sipoa.org.

Please email trash@sipoa.org if you have any questions/comments about:
- Missed trash, recycling or yard debris collection
- New trash/recycling cart requests
- All other questions related to trash, recycling or yard debris collection
Remember to include your name, property address and phone number in your message.
The SIPOA collection contractor uses state-of-the-art vehicle cameras and GIS technology to ensure an effective and efficient collection process.

TRASH & RECYCLING:
Regime associations with backdoor trash service also receive backdoor recycling service. Store the recycling cart with the trash cart.
Garbage, household trash and recycling from single family homes should be placed curbside no earlier than noon on the day prior to pickup and no later than 7:00am on pickup day. Containers must be retrieved by the end of the pickup day and stored in a location where not mostly visible.
A compactor for resident’s household trash is only available at the SIPOA recycling center at 2902B Seabrook Island Rd. Household waste must be placed in the compactor and may not be left on the ground. No construction trash, paint, chemicals or bulk trash may be disposed of in the compactor. The compactor and recycling facility are not for use by contractors or commercial enterprises, including housekeeping companies.
YARD DEBIRS:
Yard Debris is collected on WEDNESDAY.
All loose debris from developed properties should be bagged in sturdy paper bags. Limbs and palm fronds (size maximum four feet in length and four inches in diameter) may be stacked curbside. Yard debris may be placed curbside between dawn Saturday and 7:00am on the scheduled pickup day.
Yard debris generated by contractors is not included for pickup in the SIPOA yard debris program. Any contractor placing yard debris curbside may be subject to monetary assessments.
BROWN & WHITE PICKUP:
SIPOA provides pickup services for bulky/large items such as appliances, electronics, household furnishings, bedding, and the like. Dates are listed in the annual Trash schedule. Bulk items may be left curbside no earlier than noon the day prior to pickup and no later than 7:00am on the day of pickup. Do not leave bulk items at the recycling center.
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS:
Hazardous materials are items that pose a hazard to the environment (e.g. batteries, fuels, paints, solvents, insecticides, and motor oil). Hazardous materials must be left with the attendant at the SIPOA recycling area between 9:00am and 2:00pm on Brown & White pickup days only.
