I have been coming to Seabrook Island since 1976, and my husband and I have been full-time residents since 2018. I am a retired Architect and principal of my own Architecture firm for over 35 years. My architecture work included strategic and long-range planning for museums and universities, as well as design for institutional, commercial, and residential projects. I worked directly with museum and university boards, both in the roles of designer and advisor. I was an Adjunct Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, and at California College of the Arts, San Francisco, where I taught design studios and was involved in the administration process. I have been on numerous committees at universities and professional organizations, where strategic thinking and communication are valued.
I am currently serving my last year on the Board of Governors Nominating Committee. I am a volunteer for the Dolphin Conservation Education Program and a volunteer for Third Serve. I was a board member and currently an advisory member of Arts of Oakland Kids (AOK), which funds grants for art programs in underserved schools in Alameda County, California.
I feel strongly in the need to be engaged and involved in our Seabrook Island community, and believe that maintaining and enhancing our community and amenities are essential to the uniqueness of Seabrook Island.
