Barbara Vincentsen

I began visiting Seabrook Island in early 1995 and became a resident in late 2016. My husband Jock and I now reside in Seabrook Island eight months each year and in northeastern Pennsylvania the remaining four months.  We feel most fortunate to be part of the Seabrook Island community. I welcome the opportunity to collaborate with the SIPOA Board in efforts to enhance our island’s amenities and preserve the natural beauty of our island.

Volunteer Activities
Prior to moving to South Carolina, I was an active member of my community in Westfield, NJ. Since moving full time to Seabrook, I have been involved in a number of volunteer organizations including the Long Range Planning Committee of SIPOA, Blessing Basket, Habitat for Humanity, and Magnolia Garden Club.  For over five years I have been a member of the Board of Directors of the Seabrook Island Club. On a broader level I have served as a national judge since 2011 for America in Bloom, an organization that assists towns and cities across the nation become more vibrant places to live and work.

Professional Summary
I am a registered architect and professional planner with extensive experience as the owner of an architectural firm.  My experience spans site analysis, facilities planning, feasibility studies, architectural design and construction.  I have been instrumental in the planning and design of hundreds of municipal, commercial and recreational facilities.  With this range of experience I believe I would be an effective member of the SIPOA Board as Seabrook Island moves forward to develop and implement the next ten year Master Plan.
