Volunteers needed to do the following: By becoming a reading partner and volunteering as little as one hour a week at Angel Oak Elementary or 10 other Charleston County schools, you can help a child strengthen their reading skills, build confidence, and discover a passion for reading. We’ll provide ongoing support and a structured curriculum to help you become an effective tutor. Literacy unlocks opportunity. Over the past decade, volunteer reading partners have helped more than 10,000 students become confident readers by using our research-validated curriculum. Our volunteer tutors make a huge impact in the lives of their students. By sharing their passion and knowledge, tutors become mentors, friends, and more to their students. Tutoring one-on-one with a child is a fun, powerful way to help a student succeed in reading and life. No prior experience necessary to make a difference! What: Change a child’s life by joining our team of committed reading partners today! When: 1 hour a week can help a student thrive.
