6th Annual SIPOA Holiday Canned Food Drive

We still are a long way from our goal, and with so many in need, we are asking for your help!

We will continue to collect canned goods through December 10th.

Seabrookers contributed over 7,000 pounds of food items last year!

This year we would like to donate even more. We set a very ambitious goal of 8,000 pounds.

We have collected 2,194 pounds of food so far….

One way to make our own holiday celebrations even more meaningful, especially in the current environment, is to help our neighbors in need on Johns and Wadmalaw Island.  When you go grocery shopping, please purchase a couple of extra cans of food or, even better, multi-packs of canned food items, for distribution to the clients of the Sea Islands Hunger Awareness Foundation (SIHAF).  Protein items like hearty or chunky soups, stews, chili, corned beef hash, tuna, and canned chicken, as well as canned vegetables and fruit, are especially appreciated. No glass or out-of-date items, please.

Please bring your donations and place them behind the column under the new donation sign in the lobby of The Lake House. Be sure to check the expiration dates on cans before donating.

All donations will be weighed before they are picked up. Grocery bags with handles are still very much needed and can be dropped off along with your food donations.

Join us at The Lake House on Thanksgiving morning for

Seabrook Island’s Annual Turkey Trot!

  This (just over) 5K race will start promptly at 8:00 am from The Lake House and will take you through the front half of the Island.

Volunteers Needed!

The Lake House is looking for volunteers to assist with Seabrook Island’s Turkey Trot on Thursday, November 25th. Volunteers will be asked to meet in the lobby of The Lake House at 7:15 am on race day. The race should be completed by 10:00 am. Responsibilities may include; directing participants on the racecourse, hydration support (water station), and cheering on participants.

Time: 3:30 pm

Start the holiday season off right with your neighbors and friends at the 2nd Annual Seabrook Island Holiday Parade.

The Holiday Parade will begin at 3:30 pm on Friday, November 26, on Seabrook Island Road in the area of The Village at Seabrook.

The Parade will complete the loop around the island on Seabrook Island Road and finish at The Lake House.


  • Any type of vehicle allowed on Seabrook roads and able to maintain 10 mph may take part in the parade.
  • For safety reasons, ALL bicycle riders must line up at the FRONT of the parade and should be able to complete the 6.7-mile parade loop at a speed of 6 MPH.
  • Please do not throw candy/items from vehicles in the parade.

Drop off your completed registration form at The Lake House front desk or email it to no later than 12:00 pm Wednesday, November 24, 2021.

Everyone is invited to come out and join the fun, as a participant or as a spectator!
