Code Red Opt-Out

To Seabrook Island Property Owners,

SIPOA has received a request from the Town of Seabrook Island for assistance in communicating essential information to property owners before, during and after weather or other safety-related emergencies.

The Town and SIPOA work closely together during emergencies. However, as the local municipality, the Town, not SIPOA, is the first point of contact for State, County and other local agencies to relay emergency information.  Currently, the information is provided to the Town and then transmitted to SIPOA and Tidelines for distribution via eblasts and blog postings.  While these methods have proven effective and will continue, the Town has the ability to use the Code Red Alert System to send alerts via email immediately upon their receipt.  In the past, the Town has asked residents to provide their email information for emergency communications, but has had little response.

In a continued effort to enhance public safety in emergency circumstances, the Town contacted SIPOA to request that our email contact information be shared for use in the Code Red system – ONLY for the specific purpose of communicating emergency information to property owners.  The information will not be shared with any third parties.  On December 12, 2016, the Board of Directors agreed to this request with the condition that any property owner that does NOT want their email contact information entered in the Code Red database can opt-out of the program.

Please complete and return the form below if you DO NOT want to receive Code Red email communications.  If you want to participate, no further action is required, except to keep both SIPOA and the Town informed should you change your email address in the future.

If you have any questions about the Code Red program, please contact Town Hall at 843.768.9121.  If you have not already enrolled in the Code Red phone alert system, go to: and click on the Code Red tab.

Thank you for your attention and cooperation in keeping our community safe!
